Show me.
I will.

Metaphysics be damned! What's going to happen to you?
Orinda to Dworkin, on learning of the damage to the Primal Pattern
Dear Orinda,
I hope you can accept this mere shadow of the greeting you deserve. There was time to tell you but little when I fetched you back, and I must necessarily leave little behind me when I go. I have told this stand-in as much as I could, and more than I can fully expect him to retain and transfer. I do not trust the others, which is my just dessert, whose original sin was betrayal. This of course is the great irony - the Power to Draw is the power of Love, but that is no proof against calamity, for Love is fierce; its essence is sacrifice. It may be that every crime our line has committed has been out of Love rather than Hate. I go now to serve my sentence; my final misdemeanor, signing this
Fondly,
Dworkin
Dworkin's note to Orinda, left at the Primal Pattern
You were the one comparing my great-grandfather's sacrifice to Christ's.
A mockery of Christ. But that's the point, isn't it? He took over a preexisting creation from - Whom? and turned it into a veil of maya. That would make your 'great-grandfather' the Demiurge.

You are convinced he is a prisoner, and not dead?
I am convinced that is what he anticipated. Certainly he offered himself up to Chaos as the price of repairing his Pattern, and he's awfully hard to kill. He gave me too much information about Chaos for it to not be significant. I'm his ace in the hole for something--he never does anything without at least three reasons. I certainly won't assume he's dead without more evidence than I have. He was dearer than a father to me. You should understand that.
Martin and Orinda
Of course you know that Dworkin surrendered himself to the other side as the price of repairing the Pattern. Merlin, you know more about them than any of the rest of us. What do you think they're doing to him?
I cannot even conceive.
